Joint Aspiration / Arthrography Set-Up
Equipment:Arthrography tray Syringes: 10cc x 2, 20cc x2 Extra sterile towels Sharpie marker and non-sterile hemostat Lab slips, ID stamped, specimen vials / tubes, ID labels for specimen(s)
Solutions:Xylocaine 1%
Marcaine 0.5% Isovue-M 300 (10-20cc) Sodium Chloride solution 0.9%, non-bacteriostatic Optional: injectable steroid solution for joint injection (ie. Depomedrol , 40mg or Kenalog, 40mg) Scout films:If recent plain film exam on PACS or available on film, no scouts required.
Otherwise, two views-AP and lat.
