Criteria for critical results
- Acute fracture/dislocation
- Septic arthritis
- Necrotizing fasciitis
- Acute infection (Osteomyelitis, Soft tissue abscess)
Process for reporting/calling of critical results
- Try to contact an ordering physician if the patient is an outpatient.
- Try to contact an ordering physician or a caring nurse if the patient is an inpatient.
- Report STAT ER cases in 30 minute window in preliminary forms, and Call the ER for the results (ROS)
