Case 2 Discussion

Eosinophilic granuloma (Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis or LCH) with classic skull lesion with "beveled edges". This is the limited form of LCH and involes the bone frequently, with the skull (25%), ribs & femur (14% each) and pelvis(10%) the most common sites. There is a 2:1 male to female ratio and it is usually monostotic. Bone scans are only positive in about 60% of cases. (10.663)
