Case 10 DiscussionTB dactylitis. (43.230) Also known as spina ventosa, this entity usually demonstrates multiple expansile lesions with soft tissue swelling, periostitis and bone destruction. Differential diagnosis includes sickle cell dactylitis, Ewings sarcoma, leukemia, syphilis, leprosy, fungal infection, scurvy, hypervitaminosis A, trauma and infantile cortical hyperostosis.
