Sonographic Anatomy of the Shoulder

Scanning Notes for Infraspinatus:

Images of this tendon are obtained with the shoulder in neutral position, with the arm hanging naturally at the patients side. The appearance of tendon tears is the same as for those of the supraspinatus. Isolated infraspinatus tears are relatively uncommon, and tears of this tendon most commonly occur in conjunction with supraspinatus tears. The teres minor tendon can be seen at the far posterior extent of the infraspinatus.
